Rock band Linkin Park has been on its "From Zero World Tour" since September 11, 2024, with the tour finally ending on June 30, 2026 in Zurich, Switzerland — but it doesn't play every night, of course, which allows them time for other activities, such as the "CATAN x Linkin Park Game Night" that KOSMOS hosted in Hamburg, Germany ahead of shows on June 1 and 3.

What's the connection between the two? KOSMOS explains in this excerpt from a translated press release:

For over three decades, CATAN has connected millions of people worldwide — both at the gaming table and far beyond it. The fact that this cult game is also an integral part of Linkin Park's daily tour routine underscores its cultural relevance: Amidst soundchecks, stage set-ups, and late nights, CATAN is more than just a pastime for the band; the game creates space for conversation, shared breaks, and bonding moments away from the stage. This very sense of community became a tangible reality in Hamburg...
Dozens of people play CATAN Connect during "CATAN x Linkin Park Game Night" around a U-shaped table
"CATAN brings people from all over the world to the same table — and even captivates international artists like Linkin Park," says Benjamin Teuber, Managing Director of CATAN GmbH and developer of CATAN Connect. "When the band asked us if we wanted to play CATAN together, we could hardly believe it at first; however, we quickly became all the more enthusiastic about the idea. This demonstrates once again that CATAN stands for shared experiences, exciting stories, and strong connections — values that extend far beyond the game itself."

CATAN Connect is a convention-friendly version of Klaus Teuber's CATAN, with up to six players sitting across from one another in a game and with the ability to add any number of other players just by using more copies of the game. Joe Hahn, DJ and creative director of Linkin Park, participated in the event, along with dozens of music and game fans.
