At SPIEL Essen 26, Avalon Hill revealed a new item for Stephen Baker's HeroQuest game system — HeroQuest: Miniature Pack – Call of Dread.

Not much to say about this item due out in March 2027 as it doesn't seem to include new gameplay elements — only nine unpainted miniatures: skeleton, undead, zombie, abomination, goblin, orc, sorcerer, Dread warrior, and gargoyle. The press release I received for this item says "Requires HeroQuest Game System to play", but...how do you play? What do they add to the game? (In case it's not clear, I've never played HeroQuest, so I'm unsure why these miniatures would be appealing. Enlighten me, please!)
HeroQuest: Miniature Pack – Call of Dread retails for US$25.
Side note: The Avalon Hill website is bizarre. The only links at the top are HOME and PRODUCTS. Click PRODUCTS, and I'm taken to a page on Hasbro's corporate website with links to twenty online retail sites and no information about which products I might find on those sites.
Click HOME, on the other hand, and I receive this message: "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred while loading www.avalonhill.com (see the browser console for more information)."
So useful!
