Ticket to Ride Comes to Cannes

Cannes' Festival International des Jeux celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2027

Admittedly my headline is a bit deceitful since Alan R. Moon's game Ticket to Ride has been featured at the annual Festival International des Jeux in Cannes, France many times, but 2027 marks the fortieth anniversary of the FIJ game fair, and to honor the event, Moon and Days of Wonder are releasing Les Aventuriers du Rail: Cannes.

This design appears to be in the same format as the other "city" versions of Ticket to Ride, which debuted in 2018 with Ticket to Ride: New York and which had its most recent release, Ticket to Ride: Paris, in 2024. In this game, you build a network in the streets of Cannes, connecting various landmarks in the city.

The publisher has not revealed whether this edition of Ticket to Ride will be released in other languages or even outside of the fair itself, but given the vast number of fans of the Ticket to Ride game line, I can't imagine this being a one-off release. In the months to come, we'll see what Days of Wonder choo-choo-chooses to do.
