Ahead of the Gen Con 2026 debut of Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy, Canadian publisher Scorpion Masqué has revealed the next title in the series: Tag Team: SNK Arcade Legends.
Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy is the standalone sequel to Gricha German and Corentin Lebrat's two-player fighting game Tag Team, which I previewed ahead of Gen Con 2025.
In that game, each player has a pair of fighters, with each fighter being represented by a character card and a deck of ten cards — but initially you have a "deck" consisting of only each character's starting card. You arrange these cards in the order you want, then flip them one at a time along with the opponent to attack, block their attacks, build your power, and take special actions.
After going through the deck, you look at three random cards from what remains, then add one somewhere in your deck. You never re-arrange cards in your deck, so you can try to set up actions to counter your opponent's deck, but they're adding a card as well, of course.

Tag Team featured twelve novel characters, whereas Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy — which is co-designed by the original team, along with Florian Sirieix and Benoit Turpin — features six characters from Arthurian legend. I previewed the set in November 2025 after getting a peek at SPIEL Essen 25.
Christian Kudahl is the lead designer of Tag Team: SNK Arcade Legends, which will also be a six-character standalone set, with the first character revealed being Terry Bogard from SNK's Fatal Fury video game series. The other five characters, which come from SNK's The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and Fatal Fury, will be revealed one per month through December 2026, with the set scheduled for release in Q2 2027.
Scorpion Masqué is running events at Gen Con 2026 that will give people a chance to test the upcoming unrevealed characters...without knowing who they are. Maybe you can guess their identities via gameplay — or the silhouettes on the mock-up box below.

A seventh character, Iori Yagami, is available as an exclusive pre-order promo, which will undoubtedly annoy many people both now and later, but my advice for such things is to pretend they don't exist. A publisher such as, say, Hans im Glück could spin out three dozen new promo tiles for Carcassonne and release them at various events all over the world and you could chase them down for months on eBay and other forums only to discover later that HiG had actually released 37 new promo tiles, not 36, and now you're kicking yourself for missing out, which leads to frantic posts on BGG for a trading partner only to then discover HiG released 38 promo tiles, not 37, and the cycle continues, with you constantly updating spreadsheets to record your search efforts.
Or you ignore it all, and if a bonus thing ends up in your hands, cool, and if not, well, you have the game itself, which probably contains the best material anyway since it's unlikely a publisher would save ideal designs for one-off sales instead of putting that effort into selling as many of an ongoing product as possible.

Notwithstanding all that I said above, Avalon Hill will have "event exclusive" giveaways in Hall E at Gen Con 2026, and should you care to learn more, here's the list of what's on hand, with a minimum of one hundred of each giveaway each day of the show:
- HeroQuest: Wizards of Morcar — quest furniture pieces
- Sanibel — wooden tokens
- Market Fresh — alternate farmer character part sheets that feature animal farmers instead of human farmers
- Guillotine — four cards featuring British nobles
- Talisman: Crown of Blood — toad figures
- Fury of Dracula — upgrade part sheet for the quick play variant and Dracula-emblem stamped train tickets
A marketing rep for Avalon Hill tells me that these items will also be available at SPIEL Essen 26, with "a limited number of Wizard Play Network hobby stores who sign up to host game nights within a certain window" receiving items to give away to attendees.
In Hall C, Avalon Hill parent company Hasbro will give away 250 games each day, with those games being:
- Thursday — SERVD
- Friday — That's Mine!
- Saturday — Monopoly Deal: No Mercy
- Sunday — Monopoly Deal
