On 5 November 2026, U.S. publisher Restoration Games announced a multi-year licensing deal with UK publisher Games Workshop that will see new editions of three titles originally published by Game Workshop or in partnership with that company. [Disclosure: Restoration Games has purchased advertising on Board Game Beat]
The highlight of this announcement is Devastation in the Dread World, a "restored" edition of Eric M. Lang's Chaos in the Old World, which Fantasy Flight Games first released in 2009, then re-issued in 2011, and which many believed would never see the light of day again.
While Chaos in the Old World was set in Games Workshop's Warhammer fantasy setting, Devastation in the Dread World — along with the two other new editions — will be set in Gravemarch, an original setting developed by Restoration Games for Games Workshop's "Talisman Realm" that is a "place of high-fantasy, teeming with malevolent factions, vying for control over the few pockets of humanity that remain". From Restoration's press release:
[Devastation in the Dread World] features the same gritty play with area control, asymmetric factions, and blood-soaked politics with modern refinements, such as scenario-based play over random events.
Original designer, Eric Lang, joins the Restoration design team to bring this new version to life. "I think Chaos in the Old World is my most requested reprint from the most dedicated fans," Eric said. "Restoration is the perfect match to bring this game into 2026. I started this project excited, now I'm beyond thrilled."
Devastation in the Dread World will be crowdfunded in early 2027, with a retail release to follow.
The two other titles announced by Restoration Games are:
- Dungeons of Gravemarch: The Card Game, which is a "restored" edition of Corey Konieczka's Space Hulk: Death Angel – The Card Game, a Fantasy Flight Games title from 2010. In this "explosive game in a compact package", players control the last few human heroes, hunting through the ruins of the world for powerful artifacts to fight back against the evil forces that oppose them.
- Warrior Knights is a new take on Derek Carver's game Warrior Knights, which Games Workshop released in 1985 and which Fantasy Flight Games — yes, them again! — released in an updated version, also called Warrior Knights, in 2006 from Corey Konieczka, Pierre Cléquin, and Bruno Faidutti. In Restoration's take on Warrior Knights in its Gravemarch setting, humans have regained control of the world, but now fight amongst themselves.

For now, Restoration Games expects to release Dungeons of Gravemarch: The Card Game and Warrior Knights in 2028. The press release for this announcement concludes: "Under the agreement, additional games in Gravemarch or other new settings in the Talisman Realm are also possible."
