Over 24-26 July 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Fantasy Flight Games is hosting the Star Wars: Unlimited Galactic Championship, and during said event it broadcast the audaciously named Galactic Report to present a roadmap for what's coming up for Star Wars: Unlimited through 2027.
To start, Star Wars: Unlimited – Homeworlds, due out in October 2026, will be the ninth set for this trading card game. The set features 260+ new cards, some highlights of which include:
- Spotlight decks featuring Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin
- Two new token types: Beast and Weakness
- The introduction of the new Fortify keyword, allowing players to play upgrades on their bases for the first time in Star Wars: Unlimited
- Grand Moff Tarkin, the Spotlight deck leader, is the game's first leader capable of deploying as the Death Star, "fundamentally changing late-game strategy" writes FFG, which seems like an understatement given that few people can transmogrify into a moon-sized vehicle

Other Star Wars: Unlimited sets due out through the end of 2027 are:
- Icons 2027 Edition
- Legacy of Skywalker
- System Overload
- Icons 2028 Edition
- Galaxy at War

Icons sets are somewhat smaller sets intended to be starting points for new players that feature iconic characters one would expect to see in a Star Wars product, while also featuring new rare and uncommon cards to entice those already into the game to buy this set as well. I mean, that's not how the publisher would describe the set, but I think it's a fair description. (For context, here is FFG's introduction of Icons.)
As an aside related to a recent article: I'll note that no designer names were mentioned in FFG's press release for these new sets. We'll probably get that info down the road, I suppose.

In a press release announcing these sets, FFG writes, "Since launching in 2024, Star Wars: Unlimited has rapidly grown into a global organized play ecosystem supported by thousands of tournaments, tens of thousands of players, and official events across more than forty countries."
Season 2 for Star Wars: Unlimited organized play will include these events:
- Ashes of the Empire Sector Qualifiers: August 15-16 - Berlin, Germany; August 22-23 - Indianapolis, IN; September 5-6 - Fort Worth, TX; and September 19-20 - Turin, Italy
- Regional Championship: October 30-Nov 1 - Utrecht, Netherlands
