Boss Fighters Get Jungle Fever

Ready for a new challenge in this arcade-like co-operative game?

Boss Fighters Get Jungle Fever

When a game is nominated for a national award, most publishers wait for the winner of that award to be revealed before announcing spin-offs and expansions, but German publisher Pegasus Spiele — which saw a Kennerspiel des Jahres 2026 nomination for Michael Palm and Lukas Zach's Boss Fighters QR — decided to take a different route for that game's expansion.

On Friday, July 10, two days before the Kennerspiel winner is named, Pegasus Spiele announced an October 2026 release for Boss Fighters QR: Dschungelfieber, which will also be released in English as Boss Fighters QR: Jungle Fever.

First, some background: The co-operative game Boss Fighters QR has 2-4 players each choose a character (dwarf, elf, halfling, troll) and a class (warrior, rogue, mage, druid), then combine the cards for each to create a deck.

Together you will fight one of ten bosses in the game, and to do so you'll scan the QR code on the back of each card you play, with the boss responding to those actions. The nature of each boss is initially a mystery, and you must discover their threats and weaknesses through play. Each boss has four levels of difficulty, giving you a fresh challenge even if you've already brought them down once.

Boss Fighters QR: Jungle Fever gives players more of everything included in the base game, such as two new characters: the goblin tinkerer who uses scrap material in new inventions, and the shapeshifting dryad, who serves as a guardian of nature. Two new classes are included — paladin and shaman — along with five new bosses, new items, and new loot cards to be gained once you defeat a boss.

All components in the base game and Jungle Fever expansion can be combined, creating many more combinations of characters and classes to pit against bosses both new and old.
