DCeased Lives — and Will Be Released in September 2026

In late 2023, game publisher CMON crowdfunded DCeased, a Michael Shinall design that crosses the Zombicide game system with the DCeased comic line that DC Comics introduced in 2019. In that story, set on an alternate Earth, a virus of sorts infects humans and superheroes alike with a zombifying virus, thereby giving readers yet another chance to see superheroes fight one another.

As you might know, CMON had a habit of crowdfunding one game project after another to the tune of millions of U.S. dollars, but fell behind in fulfilling those projects, with more than a dozen funded projects stacked in its queue.

In April 2025, following the imposition of illegal tariffs on goods imported to the United States, CMON announced a hold on future crowdfunding projects and a staff reduction — then this business decision, which coincided with eroding goodwill by potential backers, was followed by the sales of Blood Rage, Rising Sun, and Ankh to Tabletop Tycoon (story), Zombicide to asmodee (story), and Cthulhu: Death May Die, also to asmodee (story). Starting in July 2025, CMON has posted irregular updates on the status of outstanding projects, and in March 2026 the company noted (among other things) that mass manufacturing was beginning for DCeased — and to "proceed with full production responsibly", CMON planned to fulfill retail orders for this game line first, then use the funds received to pay for manufacturing of the games for crowdfunding backers.

The U.S. branch of game company asmodee, which has distributed CMON titles since 2019, has now announced that four titles in the DCeased game line — the base game and expansions Arkham Asylum, Gotham Knights, and Green Lantern Corpse — will hit retail outlets on Friday, September 11, 2026.

In a July 31, 2026 update, CMON states that its targeting the end of 2026 for the start of fulfillment for backers' orders of this game line.

The only other CMON title on asmodee's immediate release schedule is the non-crowdfunded title Peanuts Talent Show!, which bears a September 18, 2026 release date in the U.S.

This title debuted from CMON at SPIEL Essen 25 along with four other non-crowdfunded games — here's my review of Collect! from this line-up — and this particular design is finally getting a retail release in the United States.

Peanuts Talent Show! is a new version of Wish Upon a Star, 2024 game from Root and Koudai Tateno that combines trick-taking and deck-building. Each round consists of a hand of three cards, and for each trick played, the winner either scores points equal to the value of their winning card or removes a card in their discard pile from the game; the losers, on the other hand, gain coins equal to the value of their played card, then either buys a new card for their deck or spends five coins to score 1 point. Whoever scores 50 points first wins.
