In October 2016, Riot Games — a video game developer best known for League of Legends — released the co-operative board game Mechs vs. Minions, an in-house design from Chris Cantrell, Rick Ernst, Stone Librande, Prashant Saraswat, and Nathan Tiras that was well-loved by gamers and that has been out of print since 2020.

On April 7, 2026, U.S. publisher Incredible Dream Studios announced that it's entered a partnership with Riot Games for the co-publication of a new edition of Mechs vs. Minions, with details on pricing, pre-sales, and production to be announced later in 2026, although the press release does state that Incredible Dream "will publish the 10th anniversary edition globally with product expansions to meet different player needs".

Incredible Dream was co-founded by Jane Chung Hoffacker, who was one of the executive producers of the Arcane: League of Legends animated series on Netflix, so it's fair to say she's familiar with the source material and has Riot Games' trust in her ability.
