▪️ Dire Wolf has teased a new expansion for both Dune: Imperium and Dune: Imperium – Uprising, with Paul Dennen's Dune: Imperium – Conspiracy due out in Q4 2026. The only info so far is that it contains new cards, leaders, game mechanisms, and a playing mode.

▪️ At the 2026 UK Games Expo, UK publisher Modiphius Entertainment revealed covers for two games set in Terry Pratchett's Discworld that it had announced in December 2025: Readers Digested and Kill Sam Vimes!

Readers Digested is a new version of Reiner Knizia's board game Blue Moon City, first released in 2006, and gameplay seems along the lines of the original: You use colored cards to construct tiles — although the action in this game is re-shelving lost books — with everyone who contributes to this construction receiving an award. You can also use cards for their power, which sets up tension in how you manage your hand since an action now means you don't have that resource later.

The publisher's announcement of Readers Digested noted that it "has been carefully reskinned with Discworld theming and features brand-new added expansion content" — but looking at the information available so far, only the deluxe edition of the game includes components for expansions, as well as material for solo play.

▪️ In Kill Sam Vimes!, you try to do just that by using a team of apprentice assassins and multi-use action cards to move through the city of Ankh-Morpork, avoid traps, and outscore opponents before your team is eliminated.

▪️ Italian publisher CREARDO debuted in 2022, and from what I've seen, its product line to date has mostly been shorter, family-friendly games — but it's going big on Foundation, a project by designer Mirko Bazzoli, who's a partner at the company, that adapts Isaac Asimov's classic Foundation trilogy for tabletop play. Here's an overview of this 2-5 player game:

In a distant future, the Galactic Empire is in decline. While corruption and savagery spreads across the galaxy, some factions begin to move, each with their own purposes. While the fabric of society collapses, agents in the shadows and commanders in deep space move according to steps predicted long ago by the psychohistorians. Which ideology will prevail in the depths of the universe?
In this asymmetric, card-driven strategic game, players compete across the centuries for control over the fate of humanity by deploying agents, gathering technologies, sealing contracts, and acquiring new characters to bolster their faction — all for the purpose of acquiring enough influence (and points!) to guide humanity through the predicted crises.
The front cover of Foundation, which looks like a throwback to 1960s sci-fi books
Each player represents one of the five factions, with a different deck of cards at their disposal, different abilities, and an asymmetrical faction board, all ready to deploy their agents through the galaxy to exert dominance on various planets, receiving influence and acquiring strategic positions. During their turn, the player plays a card from their hand to their faction board; the card and its position on the board determine which actions and special effects they can perform. Over a variable number of rounds, they will compete to be the one that influences the outcome of the crises, deciding in which way the galaxy board will be shaped. At the same time, they’ll try to progress on their faction track to acquire as many bonuses as possible to develop their strategy, until the final crisis is resolved and the winner is decided.

CREARDO plans to crowdfund Foundation in 2026, and on that Gamefound campaign Bazzoli and others at the company have detailed how the project originated, the game's core mechanism, the composition of the factions, and more.

Is anyone else seeing Leo and Diane Dillon being channeled in this artwork?
